The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no adverts and no cookies.
- Visits are counted without cookies, using Umami. No profile of you is built.
- If you email us, we use your message only to answer it or to update the directory.
Who we are
Simudex (simudex.com) is a directory of sim racing and flight sim tools. For anything about privacy, write to contact at simudex dot com.
Visit counting (Umami)
To see which pages people visit, the site uses Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service. It records, in aggregate:
- which page was visited, including any listing filters in its address, and the site that linked to it
- approximate location at country level, derived from the IP address
- general browser, operating system and device type
Umami doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other websites and doesn't store IP addresses in a way that identifies individual visitors. Nothing is counted if your browser sends Do Not Track, and copies of the site not served from simudex.com never count anything.
Umami processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy:umami.is/privacy.
Hosting and email
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request (such as IP address and browser details) to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, under its own privacy policy:cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. We don't use that information to identify visitors.
Email to our address passes through Cloudflare to our mailbox. We keep messages only as long as we need them to answer or to act on a suggestion or correction, and never share them.
Stored in your browser
Two small settings stay on your device and are never sent to us:

You can clear them at any time through your browser's settings for site data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU's GDPR), you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. In practice we hold no data that identifies you beyond any email you send us, but you can write to us with any request or question, and you can complain to your data-protection authority.
Changes
If the way the site handles information changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
